What is the 3 Minute Breathing Space?

It’s a mindfulness tactic that you can use just to get a bit of a pause in the hustle and bustle of your busy day or routine. There are 3 steps you can follow for this exercise.

Observe your internal climate

Simply take notice – what is going on inside of you? What are your thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations?

Follow your breath

Deep breath

What do I mean by follow your breath? Take notice to how it comes in and out of your body, and pay close attention to it. Try and ground yourself in the present moment.

Notice the external climate

External environment

What is going on around you? Pay close attention to your core senses: What are the sights, sounds, and even smells in the air.

The 3 Minute Breathing Space can be a great technique to take that pause and get a small dose of recovery within your busy day.
