A hug is the perfect gift; one size fits all, and nobody minds if you exchange it.
When you’re feeling stressed or blue, hug it out! A new study conducted by the Department of Psychology at Carnegie Mellon University proved that a hug can improve your mood after a conflict or a bad day. Over the course of two weeks, the study looked at the social interactions of 400 people and a summary of their daily activities. It looked at the link between moods, emotional states, conflicts and the number of hugs a person received.
The study concluded that those who received a hug after a negative event in their day felt less poorly. The effects were consistent across all ages and genders.
